The Kinsale Shark Awards

an international festival that rewards creative thinking.

For 55 years we have rewarded, nurtured, debated, and celebrated creative excellence and creative thinking.
We are an intimate festival located in the picturesque seaside town of Kinsale Ireland. The personal approach to our Festival renders the dividing line between speaker and audience non-existent – which delegates have always found to be a very positive, inspirational and stimulating experience.

The Kinsale Shark is awarded to outstanding work only.

Our trophy, the Shark head, is regarded as the most iconic trophy design industry-wide and is coveted by the creative community from Dublin to Dubai.

Wherever you are on the planet, and whatever your role, we invite you to sign up for updates.

The Creative Bravery Award

The Creative Bravery Award, in association with Creative Social, celebrates work which has the courage to genuinely push the boundaries, regardless of the risk or consequences. Work which only the bravest clients would sign off and which represented a genuine leap of faith.

The Best 'New' Category

For many years now, our delegates have been selecting the Best New Director from a shortlist of candidates put forward by a committee of industry professionals. This event at Kinsale is always one of the most popular with those attending.

The award for Best New Director at Kinsale has helped launch many careers, so this year we have decided to expand the category to include DOPs and Editors. As the demand for moving image content grows so does the requirement to engage with the best new talent emerging in what we believe are exciting times.

Kinsale is the perfect place to celebrate these inspirational young talents.
