MARS ESTATES BRIEF

PLEASE READ INTRO BEFORE TACKLING BRIEF.

THEN…READ IT AGAIN.

Intro: This brief is for a COMPLETELY INVENTED company.

The thinking behind this brief is simply to provide you with a task that (hopefully) will enable you to show us how creative/inventive/clever you can be.

That’s it - dead simple, nothing hidden, no ulterior political (or other) motives.

So although you might be tempted to tell us “yes but that product/service could never exist” or “I don’t agree with or like that product/service”, remember, the brief ONLY exists to stimulate your creativity.

So what’s the brief about?

Selling plots of land for development/housing on…Mars.

Background: Jeff Branston-Musque is the world’s richest man and spends hundreds of billions of dollars on space travel and exploration.

Jeff has plans to put a small community on Mars in the next 10 years and hopes that, in time, this community will grow.

If his plan is successful, eventually there will be addresses more exclusive than all those in Hollywood, Monaco, Mayfair and Dubai, rolled into one.

INSIGHT: There have always been a small group of staggeringly wealthy people with what might be described as ‘more money than sense’. People who HAVE to have the biggest, the newest and/or the most expensive and exclusive.

Your job is to come up with an idea to sell (to these people) real estate/land/houses in the galaxy’s most exclusive neighbourhood.

The company is named Mars Estates and we want you to come up with an idea for them to promote what they’re selling - ie: an address so exclusive, it’sliterally on a different planet.

You can give us a TV commercial or a radio commercial or a social media idea (entirely up to you - we’re looking for a GREAT idea first and foremost).

Oh and we want a line that will encapsulate your concept - a campaign idea or end-line.

And here’s a tip, it’s often easier to come up with scripts/concepts AFTER you have your line or overall concept thought.

Example of this ‘logic’?

Once Specsavers’ creatives had come up with the line/idea ‘should’ve gone to Specsavers’, many of the ads almost wrote themselves.

Best of luck from the Sharks.
